The course aims to provide an introduction to the world of ceramics. Students will have the opportunity to learn clay techniques in a renowned workshop, creating unforgettable experiences.
Throughout the course, participants will learn various techniques to shape clay according to their preferences, as well as methods to paint and glaze their creations. They will also gain proficiency in working with kilns and different baking modes.
By the end of the course, participants will be capable of producing ceramic products from initial creation to final use. The course can also be viewed as a form of art therapy, offering therapeutic benefits alongside artistic skill development.
Ceramics have been central to Georgian culture throughout history, from ancient civilizations like Kura-Araxes and Trialeti to the Medieval period. Pottery served as a means for Georgian ancestors to depict and adorn their culture, religion, and social life.

Scope – 10 hours.
Course goal – The course aims to introduce the ceramic world. Today there are several very famous ceramics workshops and studios in the country. Our students will learn the techniques of clay in one of these workshops, which will be an unforgettable experience. Participants will be able to paint and glaze their artwork and learn how to work with the oven. At the end of the course, the participants will be able to make ceramic artwork using different technologies. The course can identify as Art Therapy.
Like other ancient nations, ceramics are a big part of both the past and present of Georgian culture. From the cultures of Kura-Araxes and Trialeti, the ancient era to the Medieval period, ceramic artifacts show that pottery was a way for Georgians to accessorize their culture and religion.
